David Thomas
Chartered Physiotherapist, MSc, BSc
Specialising in sports injuries, lower limb rehabilitation and return-to-play performance
David is the Co-Founder of Kaizen Physiotherapy and Performance, which he launched in 2022 with a vision to deliver expert, high-quality care that helps people perform at their best and stay active for life. He holds an MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Birmingham, following a degree in Sports and Exercise Science, and has built his career across the NHS, private practice, and elite performance environments. Alongside his physiotherapy qualifications, he is also trained in sports massage and martial arts coaching, and has been invited to lecture at universities across the UK to share his knowledge and experience.
David has extensive experience working in professional sport and high-performance environments. He spent eight years within the academy at Chelsea Football Club and has also worked with professional rugby teams. He has treated international and Team GB athletes across martial arts, swimming, fencing, and athletics, and continues to support high-level footballers, including those playing in the Premier League. David is currently Head of Medical at London Welsh and will also be supporting the England Karate team at the upcoming European Championships.
Away from the clinic, David loves training in martial arts whenever he gets the chance, travelling, and discovering great food wherever he goes — as well as keeping life interesting by finding novel ways to annoy his business partner, Gus..
